New Volunteer

Hello!  My name is Ana Ramirez Luhrs and I am the Kirby Librarian at Lafayette College in Easton, PA (check out a short piece I wrote for LHRT News and Notes in 2017 about Kirby Library).  In addition to my role as Kirby Librarian, I am a member of the Research and Instruction team at Lafayette.  I began my career as a Special Collections librarian at the Gilder Lehrman Collection in NYC and continue to work closely with special collections and primary sources as a research and instruction librarian.
I am very excited to join the editorial team at LHRT News and Notes!  My interests in library history include the history of immigrant services in American libraries, primarily the Americanization programs of American public libraries in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  Like my fellow blog volunteer, Tara Peace, I am interested in neutrality in librarianship and passionate about social justice issues in library history.  Keep an eye out for our social justice column in future posts!
