A great resource for library and book history enthusiasts:
The Caxton Club is digitizing back issues of its serial. For those who have not heard of this venerable group, “the Caxton Club brings together archivists, authors, binders, book artists, booksellers, collectors, conservators, designers, editors, librarians, printers, publishers, scholars, and others. Members from these diverse backgrounds form a community that shares a love of printed, handwritten, and digital books and related textual objects, such as pamphlets, broadsides, maps, and ephemera. The club provides a forum to learn about the arts, history, and technologies of these materials, as well as a space to share the joys of appreciating and collecting them” (Caxton Club).
And here is their wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caxton_Club
News about the digitization:
“The Caxton Club is proud to announce we’ve received generous funding to ensure that digital back issues of our Caxtonian will be available to all at caxtonian.org. The donations were made in honor of Bob McCamant, and will ensure long-term support of caxtonian.org…” Explore this fascinating archive at:
I am the editor of the Caxtonian and would welcome any comments anyone may have on the publication or the digitization of the archive. Happy New Year, Michael
