Call for Submissions

Message from the Editor

Greetings!  My name is Brett Spencer, and I’m serving as the new editor for LHRT News and Notes.  I’m a reference librarian at the Thun Library at Penn State Berks.

Apologies for duplication if you have already seen some parts of my message on the LHRT listserv.

The LHRT News and Notes blog is officially accepting submissions for both news items as well as “Notes”–short, informal essays on library history.  Summations of works in progress, reviews, source notes, brief histories of specific libraries, biographical profiles, funny essays, and opinion pieces can all be submitted for consideration:

https://lhrt.news/how-to-submit/

Anyone who has something to say about library history can submit.  Students are strongly encouraged to submit class papers.  Submissions can be emailed to me (dbs21@psu.edu) in a Word file.

Historic Library Photos
I wanted to extend a special thanks to Mr. Salvatore Victor De Sando and Ms. Cara Setsu Bertram at the ALA Archives for permitting the use of their photos and captions on the blog.  Each page of the blog features a different historic photo from their digital collections along with a link back to their site.

Request for Help

Please help me distribute this call for submissions to other relevant lists.  Hope to see a submission from you!

Best Wishes,
Brett Spencer, Editor
